Dear Aervana,
Last evening we selected a 2008 Windham Estate “Bin 555" Shiraz to accompany a special dinner prepared by Micki. To begin, I set out three large wine glasses for the test. In the first, I simply poured a small sample direct from the bottle. In the second glass, I poured a similar amount, this time through a "top of the line" plastic aerator, causing the wine to bubble and aerate using this competing product. In the third glass, a similar sample was “pumped" into the glass by the Aervana. We were immediately surprised at the sustained small bubbles and frothing it caused. But the proof of Aervana was in the taste.
As the bubbling and fizzing subsided, we each proceeded with our taste tests. Glass one, with no aeration, yielded a disappointing sample of the aging 91 point (in 2008) wine. I expected more from it even without a period of "breathing." "Hmmm, maybe we needed to choose a better wine to start with?" Well, on to the second glass. Using a competing product, the simple plastic aerator, definitely produced some broadening of flavors, but still not what we had expected for the choice wine we had selected. Then on to the third glass.
"Now I can swear on the holiest of wine corks, we experienced an amazing transformation...a spectacular release of full flavors (really!)."
Now I can swear on the holiest of wine corks, we experienced an amazing transformation...a spectacular release of full flavors (really!). Yes, Micki had the same results as Norm.
Now I will confess, I had hoped for some discriminating results that would set the Aervana apart from “old faithful", the plastic aerator, but I had some reservations. No longer, Lou has a real winner if the Aervana Electric Wine Aerator is given a proper trial. Simply amazing!
I should add, that for the remainder of the evening, the Aervana wine aerator sat, mated with its companion Bin 555 Shiraz, while Norm demonstrated their new found capabilities, fizzing away with glass after glass of the best for our special dinner. My only complaint, it must have evaporated some of that precious liquid, because we arrived at the bottom of the bottle far too soon.
